Comments:
Indigenous to northeastern India, the name Naga Jolokia translates to King Cobra Chili in English. It is currently certified by the Guinness Book of World Records to be the hottest chili on the planet, replacing the Red Savina Habanero in 2007 (Note: A variant of the Bird Pepper, Tapin, has been tested to be hotter than even the ghost pepper, but that is for another review).
Dave's Gourmet has cooked up another hit. This sauce is slightly sweet, with a hint of melon, garlic, and vinegar. The flavor is quickly overwhelmed with the pain typical of the super-hot sauces. Once the endorphins kick in, the pain diminishes and you can return to tasting this wonderful sauce.
Warning! This is a cap-extract sauce. If you don't know what that means, you are reading the wrong page. Go away from here while you are still among the breathing. The original cap-extract sauce, Dave's Insanity, is the only sauce to ever be banned from the annual Fiery Foods Convention. This one is much hotter. Let that be your warning.
